Great mirror, hang it with two people
Real glass at 65 inches is heavy and awkward on your own, so line up a second pair of hands. Once it was up the reflection is dead flat with no distortion anywhere across the 24 inch width.
Real char instead of grey stripes
The ridges are tall enough that the steaks sit above the rendered fat and actually sear. My old shallow pan just steamed everything into a sad grey. Bring it up to temperature slowly and it behaves.
The cover came off and washed clean
Someone put a foot on it straight off the beach and the washed linen cover came away easily and went through a cold wash without shrinking. Twenty-two inches square is enough for two people to share as a footrest. It has taken my full weight as a spare seat with no complaints.
Sat out all winter and it is still solid
The teak did exactly what teak does, silvered over and otherwise carried on. The three splayed legs sit flat on my uneven bluestone where a four-legged table used to rock on the same spot.
Big enough to actually be the artwork

Reads as a real flame from the sofa
It flickers unevenly, which is the part that sells it. Close up you can tell it is mist, but from across the room it is a small fire on the side table.
Looks like an object when it is off
That is what I was paying for. The round base reads as pottery rather than a lamp part, and the straight shade keeps it from looking fussy.
Exactly right for a July night
Cotton fill rather than polyester means it breathes, so I can sleep under it in the humidity here without overheating. The channel stitching is fine and even, and it drapes rather than standing up in lumps. In winter it goes over the duvet for an extra layer.
Awake before the sound
The light starts thirty minutes ahead and I am usually surfacing before the tone ever plays. Waking up without the jolt has been the whole difference for me.
Hung two over one and it works
Because they are three separate frames rather than one long panel I could stack them instead of doing a straight row. The sawtooth hangers meant a single nail for each one.
The halo really does catch the light
Brushed mohair has a fuzz that lifts off the surface and you can see it glowing from the other side of the room in the evening. Pale camel is a warmer tone than the photos suggest, closer to a soft tan. It is lighter in the hand than my wool throws and warmer than both.
