Dimensions & care

Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.

Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.

Shipping & returns

Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.

Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

Bath

Dry underfoot in about a minute

Diatomaceous stone pulls water straight into the surface and lets the room take it back. No damp mat on the floor, no mildew, no laundry.

Diatomite Bath Mat

Dry in a minute

Water evaporates, does not sit

Never washed

No laundry, no mildew

Sanding pad included

Resurface if it slows down

0.4 in thick

Clears a door swing

How it works

Absorbs, then evaporates

Diatomaceous earth is porous at a scale you cannot see. Water goes into the stone rather than pooling on top of it, and the air in the room pulls it back out within a minute or two.

Maintenance

It never goes in the machine

There is no fabric to wash and nothing for mildew to grow in. If the surface ever stops drinking, the pad in the box sands it back to new in under a minute.

Floor

Thin, and it stays put

At 23 by 15 inches and only 0.4 thick it sits under a door without catching, and the rubber feet hold it flat on tile instead of skating when you step off.

The bath mat that changed my mornings

I was sceptical about a stone bath mat. It dries in about a minute and there is no damp thing on the floor anymore, no smell, no laundry. I have not washed it once in two months.

Dry before I finish brushing my teeth

Water disappears into the stone within about a minute, so there is never a damp mat on the floor and nothing to put through the wash. Two months in and no mildew smell at all.

Used the sanding pad once and it was new again

After about six weeks it was drinking more slowly, so I gave it thirty seconds with the pad that comes in the box and it went straight back to day one. The rubber feet keep it flat on tile as well.

Questions we get about this kind of piece

All FAQs
What is it made of, and will it survive a damp bathroom?

Every page names the material — stoneware, glass, teak, marble or cotton — rather than leaving it at "ceramic". All of it lives happily in a humid room with a little care: let wood dry between uses and re-oil it a couple of times a year, and re-seal stone once a year. What none of it likes is standing water, so nothing should sit in a permanent puddle.

Can towels and mats go in the machine?

Yes — warm wash, tumble on low. Wash new towels once before using them: the finish that makes towels look crisp on a shelf is also what stops them absorbing, and it rinses out on the first cycle.

Do the pieces match across the range?

Pieces in the same material and finish are made to sit together. Stone and wood vary from piece to piece by nature, so expect a close family rather than an exact match — that is the material, not a defect.

Can I return something I have used?

Thirty days, unused and in the original packaging. Once a towel or a mat has been washed or used we cannot take it back for hygiene reasons, so check the size on the page before ordering.
