Dimensions & care

Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.

Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.

Shipping & returns

Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.

Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

Textiles & Rugs

The layer for nights that are not duvet cold

Cotton face and cotton fill, channel stitched and pre-washed, Full and Queen at 90 by 96 inches.

Quilted Cotton Bedspread

Cotton fill

Breathes, unlike polyester

Channel stitched

Fine, even parallel lines

Reversible

Either side facing up

Pre-washed

It will not shrink out of shape

FILL

Cotton, not polyester wadding

Polyester fill traps heat and moisture, which is why a cheap quilt turns clammy by two in the morning. Cotton through the fill lets air move, so this works in humidity as well as in the cold.

STITCHING

Channels, not a heavy grid

Fine parallel stitching holds the fill evenly without stiffening the quilt into panels. It drapes over the foot of the bed instead of standing up in ridges.

SEASONS

Both ends of the year

On its own through summer, or laid over a duvet in winter for one more layer of warmth without adding another few pounds of weight on top of you.

Exactly right for a July night

Cotton fill rather than polyester means it breathes, so I can sleep under it in the humidity here without overheating. The channel stitching is fine and even, and it drapes rather than standing up in lumps. In winter it goes over the duvet for an extra layer.

Pre washed, and it did not shrink

Straight into a cold wash and a low tumble the day it arrived and it came out the same 90 by 96 it went in. I did not realise it was reversible until I unfolded it, which is a bonus. Light enough to fold at the foot of the bed all summer without bulk.

Questions we get about this kind of piece

All FAQs
Will a new rug shed?

A wool rug sheds for the first two to four weeks — that is loose fibre working out of the weave, not the rug coming apart. Vacuum with the beater bar off and it settles down on its own.

How do I wash it?

Linen and cotton take a cold machine wash and dry flat or on low heat. Wool prefers spot cleaning and one professional clean a year. The care label is sewn into the item and the full instructions sit under Dimensions & care.

Do I need a rug pad?

On a hard floor, yes. It stops the rug creeping underfoot, adds a lot of comfort and keeps the backing from grinding against the boards. On carpet it is optional.

Are the colours true to the photos?

We photograph on neutral backgrounds without boosting saturation, but screens differ and natural fibres take dye unevenly by nature — that variation is part of the material, not a fault. If the shade is wrong for your room you have 30 days.
