Dimensions & care

Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.

Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.

Shipping & returns

Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.

Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

Wall Decor

Lean the art instead of committing to a nail

36 inches of solid white oak with a shallow front lip that holds frames up to 1.5 inches deep at a slight angle, so nothing slides off the front.

The lip

A small angle stops the slide

The lip is shallow enough to stay out of the picture and deep enough to take a frame 1.5 inches thick. Frames rest back against the wall instead of standing upright and toppling.

Flexibility

Rearranging takes a second

Swap a print, add one, overlap two smaller frames behind a large one. That is the entire argument for a ledge over a row of hooks and a filled-in wall of old holes.

Load

20 lb, into a stud

Enough for four or five framed prints at once. Catch at least one stud with the supplied fixings and the ledge does not move, even when you lean on it.

Rearranging is the whole point

I have swapped what is on it four times since it went up and made zero new holes in the wall. The lip holds my thickest frame, which is a shade over an inch, with room to spare.

36 inches carries more than I expected

Five framed prints on it and there is no flex at all. I caught a stud with one of the supplied fixings and it feels immovable. The white oak matches nothing else in the room and still works.

Questions we get about this kind of piece

All FAQs
Is the hanging hardware included?

Yes. Frames and mirrors arrive with the hooks or D-rings already fitted and the wall fixings in the box. Heavier mirrors include drywall anchors rated for the weight.

Is it glass or acrylic?

Each page states which under The details. We use acrylic on the larger sizes on purpose — glass at that size is a shipping and a safety problem, not a cost decision. It is optically clear and considerably harder to break.

Can I hang a mirror in the bathroom?

Yes, in a ventilated bathroom. What damages a framed mirror is steam sitting on the finish, so avoid the wall directly above a shower and wipe the frame down if it fogs.

How do I pick the right size?

Cut the outer dimensions out of newspaper and tape it to the wall for a day before you commit. Almost every wall piece that comes back to us comes back on size, not on quality.
