Dimensions & care

Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.

Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.

Shipping & returns

Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.

Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

Four turned oak bowls that nest into one

Each turned from a single piece of solid oak and finished with food-safe oil, running from 10 inches across down to 5 — so all four store in the footprint of the largest.

Oak Serving Bowls - 4

Four bowls

10 in down to 5 in

They nest

One bowl of cupboard space

Turned solid oak

One piece, no joints

Food-safe oil

Hand wash, re-oil yearly

Turning

One piece of oak each

Turned from solid stock rather than glued up from staves, so the grain runs continuously around the bowl and there is no joint waiting to open up in a dry kitchen.

Storage

They nest all the way down

The largest is 10 inches across and the smallest is 5, each sized to sit inside the next. Four serving bowls take up one bowl's worth of cupboard.

Honest limit

Dry food and fruit only

An oil finish and hot liquid do not mix, so no soup and nothing dressed left sitting overnight. Nuts, fruit, bread, crisps. Hand wash and re-oil once or twice a year.

All four live inside the biggest

Nesting from 10 inches down to 5 means the whole set takes one bowl of shelf space. The grain runs continuously around each one and there is not a glue line anywhere to be seen.

Beautiful, and they mean it about liquid

For nuts and fruit they are perfect. I left a dressed salad sitting in one overnight and the oil finish took a mark. Re-oiling brought it back, but read that care note properly first.

Questions we get about this kind of piece

All FAQs
Is it dishwasher and microwave safe?

Stoneware and glass are safe in both. Cast iron, wood and anything with a wooden handle should be washed by hand and dried straight away. Every product page states which applies to that piece.

What is it actually made of?

We name it on every page — stoneware, borosilicate glass, cast iron, acacia or olive wood — instead of writing "ceramic" and leaving it there. Glazes are food-safe and lead-free, and the non-stick coatings are PFOA-free.

Do the pans work on induction?

Cast iron and anything with a magnetic base does. If a page does not mention induction, treat it as gas and electric only, or ask us and we will check the actual base. A non-stick surface lasts for years if you keep it off high heat, out of the dishwasher and away from metal utensils.

Why is it so much cheaper than retail?

This is finished stock from the same production runs that supply larger homeware retailers, bought as a lot and priced without the showroom margin. Same piece, same materials, same factory. When a lot is gone we cannot always reorder it.
