Titanium plates hold the heat when you clamp down, which is the whole point. My old ceramic iron would drop temperature on the first pass and I would have to go over the same section four times. This does it in one.
Works beautifully but be careful with the temperature if your hair is fine or coloured. I keep mine at 300 and that is plenty. Would have liked a lock for storage.
