Heavy enough to stay put
The base has real weight, so catching the cord with your foot does not send it across the table. Speckle is different on mine than the photo, which I expected from a reactive glaze and now prefer.

Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.
Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.
Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.
Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.
Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.
Lighting
A fat ceramic base in speckled sand glaze — quiet, but it holds the table.

The glaze
A speckled sand glaze that pools and breaks differently over the shoulder of every piece. Yours will not be identical to the photograph, which is the reason to buy a thrown lamp rather than a moulded one.
The proportion
A heavy body wants a shade with straight sides; a tapered one would tip the whole thing toward country. At 13 inches across the base it holds a console or a wide nightstand instead of getting lost on it.
Good to know
Six pounds landing hard on a stone counter is enough to take a chip out of the glaze. Set it down rather than sliding it, and lift it by the body — never by the shade.

That is what I was paying for. The round base reads as pottery rather than a lamp part, and the straight shade keeps it from looking fussy.
Most of our lamps take a standard E26 bulb and ship without one, so you choose the colour temperature rather than living with ours. The socket and the maximum wattage are listed under The details on every page. Anything with integrated LEDs says so and needs no bulb at all.
Yes, on anything with a standard socket, as long as the bulb you fit is a dimmable one. Pieces with integrated LEDs have their own dimming built in and should not be wired to a wall dimmer.
Very little. Floor and table lamps arrive in two or three parts that thread together by hand, no tools. Anything that wires into a ceiling box is marked on the page and should be fitted by an electrician.
Glass and ceramic ship double-boxed. If a piece still arrives broken, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement. You do not have to send the broken one back.
