The marble base is genuinely heavy, which is the whole point of an arc lamp. It reaches right over the sofa and I stopped needing a side table for the reading light. Bought a second for the bedroom.

Dimensions & care
Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.
Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.
Shipping & returns
Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.
Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.
Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

Reading light without a side table
The arm reaches 45 inches out, so the shade lands over your shoulder while the base sits beside the sofa rather than in front of it. It is the fix for a corner that has nowhere to put a lamp.
The base
Solid marble, not a filled shell
22 lb of stone with a felted underside. Arc lamps fail when the counterweight is too light and the whole thing walks or tips — this one does not move once it is placed.

Measure the reach before you buy
Allow 45 inches of clear span between the base and where you want the light. The shade tilts through about 40 degrees, so you can aim it down onto a book or up at the ceiling.

No wobble at full reach
The arm is out as far as it goes and the base has not moved once. Felt underneath so it does not scratch the floor. Foot switch means I never touch the shade.
Replaced a floor lamp and a side table
That was the point and it delivered. The corner of the sofa has reading light and nothing else in it now. Assembly was the stem into the base, about a minute.
Does it come with a bulb?
Most of our lamps take a standard E26 bulb and ship without one, so you choose the colour temperature rather than living with ours. The socket and the maximum wattage are listed under The details on every page. Anything with integrated LEDs says so and needs no bulb at all.
Can I put it on a dimmer?
Yes, on anything with a standard socket, as long as the bulb you fit is a dimmable one. Pieces with integrated LEDs have their own dimming built in and should not be wired to a wall dimmer.
Is there much assembly?
Very little. Floor and table lamps arrive in two or three parts that thread together by hand, no tools. Anything that wires into a ceiling box is marked on the page and should be fitted by an electrician.
What happens if the glass arrives broken?
Glass and ceramic ship double-boxed. If a piece still arrives broken, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement. You do not have to send the broken one back.
