Dimensions & care

Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.

Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.

Shipping & returns

Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.

Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

French flax, washed before it was cut

A chalk white cover with corner ties inside, plus two pillowcases, in Full and Queen.

Linen Duvet Set

Garment washed

Soft on the very first night

Corner ties

The insert stays flat

French flax

Long fibre, breathes year round

90 x 92 in

Shams 20 x 30 in

WASH

Softness built in, not waited for

Washing the fabric before cutting relaxes the flax and takes the shrinkage out ahead of time. Night one and night one hundred feel the same, which is not true of unwashed linen.

TIES

Four ties, one problem solved

A duvet insert with nothing holding it migrates to the foot of the cover by midwinter and you spend every morning shaking it back. The ties sewn into each corner keep it square.

FLAX

Why French flax specifically

The fibre is long and strong, which is what lets linen get softer with washing instead of thinning out. It also breathes, so the same cover works in July and in January.

Linen that starts soft

No breaking-in period, it was good the first night. The corner ties inside stop the insert bunching at the foot, which is the detail I did not know I wanted until I had it.

The corner ties stopped the bunching

Every duvet cover I have owned ends with the insert balled up at the foot by February. The ties inside each corner have kept mine flat and even for two months of nightly use. The garment washed flax is soft immediately, not stiff and papery.

The first night felt like year three

Washing before cutting clearly makes the difference, there was none of the crunchy phase I expected from French flax. The chalk white is warm rather than clinical under a bedside lamp. The 90 by 92 cover fits our queen insert with no gap at the corners.

Questions we get about this kind of piece

All FAQs
Will a new rug shed?

A wool rug sheds for the first two to four weeks — that is loose fibre working out of the weave, not the rug coming apart. Vacuum with the beater bar off and it settles down on its own.

How do I wash it?

Linen and cotton take a cold machine wash and dry flat or on low heat. Wool prefers spot cleaning and one professional clean a year. The care label is sewn into the item and the full instructions sit under Dimensions & care.

Do I need a rug pad?

On a hard floor, yes. It stops the rug creeping underfoot, adds a lot of comfort and keeps the backing from grinding against the boards. On carpet it is optional.

Are the colours true to the photos?

We photograph on neutral backgrounds without boosting saturation, but screens differ and natural fibres take dye unevenly by nature — that variation is part of the material, not a fault. If the shade is wrong for your room you have 30 days.
