Dimensions & care

Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.

Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.

Shipping & returns

Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.

Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.

Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

Wall Decor

No visible brackets, and more capacity than they look like they have

Solid oak with a steel rod concealed inside each shelf, so the load is carried from the wall rather than from underneath. 24 inches wide, 6 deep, 35 lb per shelf into a stud.

Floating Shelves - 2

Concealed rod

No bracket under the timber

35 lb per shelf

Fixed into a stud

Level built in

No spirit level needed

Both fixings

Drywall and masonry included

Structure

The rod does the work

A steel rod runs inside the oak and into a wall plate, so there is nothing propping the shelf from below. That is what lets a shelf only 6 inches deep carry 35 lb.

Install

Drywall or masonry, both in the box

Fixings for both wall types are included, and a level is built into the mount, so you are not trying to balance a spirit level on a bracket while holding a shelf.

Honest limit

35 lb assumes a stud

Into plasterboard alone the figure drops well below that. Find the stud first — the mount shows you exactly where the rod lands before you commit to a hole.

Brackets are genuinely hidden

Steel rod goes inside the shelf so there is nothing underneath. Took the drywall fixings from the box, found a stud for one of them, and it holds a row of books without a sag.

The concealed rod is the real thing

No bracket underneath at all, which is the entire reason I bought these. I loaded one up with cookbooks and it has not sagged a millimetre. Both went into studs as instructed.

The level built into the mount is quietly brilliant

I have put up shelves before while trying to balance a spirit level on a bracket. Not having to do that made the whole two shelf job take about twenty minutes.

Questions we get about this kind of piece

All FAQs
Is the hanging hardware included?

Yes. Frames and mirrors arrive with the hooks or D-rings already fitted and the wall fixings in the box. Heavier mirrors include drywall anchors rated for the weight.

Is it glass or acrylic?

Each page states which under The details. We use acrylic on the larger sizes on purpose — glass at that size is a shipping and a safety problem, not a cost decision. It is optically clear and considerably harder to break.

Can I hang a mirror in the bathroom?

Yes, in a ventilated bathroom. What damages a framed mirror is steam sitting on the finish, so avoid the wall directly above a shower and wipe the frame down if it fogs.

How do I pick the right size?

Cut the outer dimensions out of newspaper and tape it to the wall for a day before you commit. Almost every wall piece that comes back to us comes back on size, not on quality.
