Every cheap desk lamp I have owned started drooping within a month. These tighten by hand and it has held the same position for weeks. Base is felted so it does not mark the desk.

Dimensions & care
Full dimensions are listed at the end of the Overview on every product page, taken from the finished piece rather than from a drawing. If a measurement matters for your space, write to us and we will check the actual item before it ships.
Care instructions ship with the product and are printed on the care label where there is one. Solid wood wants a damp cloth and an occasional oil; stone should be sealed once a year; wool and linen prefer a cold wash and drying flat.
Shipping & returns
Shipping is free on every order, with tracking, anywhere in the United States. We do not ship outside the US, so there are no customs charges or import duties on anything you order.
Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days and most orders placed before 2pm ET leave the same day. Typical delivery is 7 to 15 days from dispatch. Tracking arrives by email as soon as the carrier scans the parcel.
Thirty days to return anything unused and in its original packaging, with all fixings included. We cover the return shipping when an item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement without asking for the broken one back.

Friction hinges sag as the springs age, which is why a cheap task lamp is pointing at your knees by the end of the week. These two joints clamp shut against knurled brass knobs, so where you set the arm at nine is where it still is at five.
Two ways to mount it
Weighted base or desk clamp
Both come in the box. Use the 7 inch weighted base on a wide desk, or fit the clamp when you want the surface clear for paper. Swapping between them is one knob.
Good to know
It lights the page, not the room
The small head is deliberate: a tight pool on what you are working on, rather than a wash across the desk and a reflection in your screen. If you want ambient light too, this should not be the only lamp in the room.

Light stays on the page
Deep shade, matte inside, so nothing bounces back at you. I would have liked another few inches of reach but it covers my desk from the corner.
Does it come with a bulb?
Most of our lamps take a standard E26 bulb and ship without one, so you choose the colour temperature rather than living with ours. The socket and the maximum wattage are listed under The details on every page. Anything with integrated LEDs says so and needs no bulb at all.
Can I put it on a dimmer?
Yes, on anything with a standard socket, as long as the bulb you fit is a dimmable one. Pieces with integrated LEDs have their own dimming built in and should not be wired to a wall dimmer.
Is there much assembly?
Very little. Floor and table lamps arrive in two or three parts that thread together by hand, no tools. Anything that wires into a ceiling box is marked on the page and should be fitted by an electrician.
What happens if the glass arrives broken?
Glass and ceramic ship double-boxed. If a piece still arrives broken, send a photo of the item and the outer box within 7 days and we ship a replacement. You do not have to send the broken one back.
